We are looking for an energetic, caring and personable candiate to direct the activities at our Adult Day Health Center.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Directing the provision of activities
• Oraganize outings and shopping trips
• Organize monthly participant council meetings
• Create monthly activities schedules
• Document assessments, care plans evaluations and clinical notes as needed
• Participate in Interdisciplinary care plan meetings
• Assisting in meal services

Qualifications for this position are:

1. Be certified or eligible for certification as an activity director certified(ADC) by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NationalCertification Council for Activity Professionals, PO Box 62589, Virginia Beach,VA 23466); OR;

2. Be certified or eligible for certification as a certified therapeutic recreation specialist (CTRS) by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation (National Council for Therapeutic Recreation, Inc., 7 Elmwood Drive, New City,NY 10956); OR;

3. Have a baccalaureate degree from a college or university approved by a State department of education with a major in recreation, creative arts therapy, music therapy, therapeutic recreation, art, art education, psychology, sociology,occupational therapy, or other health and/or human services related degree such as gerontology or early education; OR;

4. Have a high school diploma and at least three years of full-time, or fulltime equivalent, experience in activities in a licensed health care facility and have successfully completed an activities education program approved by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
